Working out at home has become my preference, because it doesn’t take much time and I don’t have to get ready/look nice to go to the gym. Before the pandemic, I belonged to our local gym, and really enjoyed the exercise classes. Bootcamp, Body Pump and Pilates were the three I typically attended. It was nice having a group of people to socialize with, and when they gyms shut down I really missed my workout buddies!
Early Morning Workouts
After the pandemic ended, I thought I would instantly go back to the gym. However, I became used to working out early in the morning and it just isn’t convenient to go to a scheduled class later in the morning. I still workout with Sherry two days/week, and we typically meet at 7:45 am. The Body Pump class we used to go to starts at 10:20, and we just don’t want to delay our workout to so late in the day. I guess we got spoiled working out at 7:45 everyday, and then having the rest of the day to do whatever.
Drawbacks to Working Out at Home
The two drawbacks to working out at home are missing the social interaction of attending classes, and not having an instructor. Our idea of Fit-N-Fun Games stemmed from fulfilling the social aspect. Our Bootcamp edition is perfect for a group of people such as a girl’s weekend, bachelorette party, or simply gathering some friends to workout together. In addition, you can also play the game against someone in another location. If you both have the board game, you can each roll the dice, perform the exercises and play against each other. You can do this via Zoom, Facetime or just over the phone. This is a great way to connect and workout with friends all over the world, and from the comfort of home.
How to Perform Exercises Correctly

Bootcamp Group Stretch
Not having an instructor to motivate you to work at your peak level or ensure you are doing the exercises correctly is a major downfall of working out at home. We hired a corrective exercise specialist to properly demonstrate each exercise in our workout game, and she also offers modifications. These are available on our website. The “Challenge” cards in our games motivate you to workout at your peak level. I have noticed I get a much better workout when I play the game against other people.

At Home Workout Equipment
It also saves me money to workout at home. I no longer have the monthly gym fee or pay for gas to get to the gym. It also saves me money on fitness apparel, because I don’t feel as inclined to have the newest/latest workout clothes. Initially, I bought several hand weights and exercise bands. Now my workouts don’t cost me anything. I always have water, so I can’t forget it. Plus, choosing my own music to workout to is a bonus.
Fit-N-Fun Bootcamp Edition Available Soon
I typically alternate the workout games I made during the pandemic, our Fit-N-Fun Bootcamp Edition and Bootcamp Extreme and some workouts I enjoy on You Tube. Our Bootcamp Edition will be available mid October of 2023, and I can’t wait for you to try it. I think with modifications, it’s a great workout for people ages 8-65. It’s a different workout everyday depending on the roll of the dice, making it a great way to vary your at-home workouts. We hope to have other editions ready for you soon, so you can vary your workouts even more.
