Our main goal at Fit N Fun Games is to make fitness fun. Why? When fitness is made fun, it promotes consistency which leads to great results!
How To Make Fitness Fun
How do you make fitness fun? That’s a GREAT question. Our answer is through gamified fitness and creating community. Our Fit N Fun Bootcamp Edition fits both of those descriptions.
Gamified Fitness
Gamified fitness is well-studied in the exercise industry for increasing motivation. How? Gamification leads to motivation because people have a natural tendency to try to finish and continue achieving at a higher level (think of people wanting to close their Apple watch rings). Gamified fitness establishes consistent healthy exercise behaviors because of people’s innate desire to make progress. In essence, it entices people to increase endurance, reps and/or improve their time. Our bootcamp edition is gamified fitness at it’s best, and encourages people to compete at higher levels against themselves or with others through the Challenge Cards and through the two tracks of exercises.
Creating Community Through Exercise

Orange challenge cards pit players against each other, often giving the winner a competitive edge.
Community is important for consistency in exercise for several reasons. Gyms with group exercise classes are popular for a reason; they create a sense of community. Group exercise classes help you meet other like-fitness minded people, and often friendships develop through shared interests. My long-time workout buddy and I had known each other prior to working out together. In fact, I invited Sherry to the YMCA in Hudson to try Body Pump with a guest pass. She loved it, and soon was a member herself. We then tried several other group classes, and Bootcamp was soon our favorite. We became workout buddies, and inspired each other to workout regularly. We also met and became friends with our Bootcamp instructor and many of the regular attendees.
Exercise Motivation
For exercise to become a consistent habit, there needs to be something that motivates you to continue. For me personally, I love how I feel both mentally and physically when I workout regularly. When the shutdown occurred with the Covid-19 pandemic, I missed group exercise classes. I wasn’t sure how to continue workouts at home, and while I certainly tried, my at-home workouts weren’t as fun or challenging. Soon, Sherry and I were creating our own versions of bootcamp games we used to play at the Y such as Candy Land, Matching and Chutes and Ladders. These gamified fitness workouts really increased my workout intensity.
Creating At-Home Workouts
Soon, Sherry and I were working out together with our kids for their gym credits. We considered our family’s to be in our “safe bubble”. It was during this time that we dreamed up Fit N Fun Games, and were especially excited about the Challenge Cards. We initially drew the game on poster board and really enjoyed the workout (yes, people who workout regularly actually start to enjoy it)!
We are excited to have actually realized our dream of creating a fun fitness workout for others to enjoy at home, and love how our gameboard is designed. It feels like you are working out in a beautiful outdoor park.
Bootcamp At Home
If you are new to working out, our Fit N Fun Bootcamp Edition is a GREAT way to start. We demonstrate each exercise and show modifications for all fitness levels with a licensed personal trainer (simply scan the QR Code on the game board). It takes the intimidation away, because you can learn to do the exercises at home. It allows you to build up strength and endurance before inviting others to play or before trying a bootcamp group exercise class at your local gym. If you want to up level your fitness goals/health in 2024, I encourage you to give our Bootcamp Edition a try. You have nothing to lose except a few excuses and or a few pounds!
