Planning the perfect girl’s weekend is not easy. There are a few tips that can ensure fun for everyone.
Girl’s Weekend Fun Tips
- Pick a location that’s easy to get to for everyone (central and within driving distance).
- Choose lodging that is comfortable, offers enough bedrooms/bathrooms and isn’t too expensive.
- Keep everyone’s finances/budget in mind. In my friend group, we alternate who is planning and securing lodging.
- Search for fun activities that are within everyone’s budget and fitness level. Make any needed reservations in advance.
- Plan your menu of eats and drinks and divvy up who is bringing what. We typically each take one meal or snack time and then that person shops, prepares and cleans up from that meal. This way we all get a break, and only “work” once.
- Make sure the lodging has a space for you to all gather for meals, games and conversation.
- Bring along games and your karoake microphone.
While there is no recipe for the perfect girl’s weekend, these tips can help. My bestie’s and I typically go to my girlfriend’s cabin every summer. I will outline what a weekend typically looks like for us.
Cabin Girl’s Weekend Schedule
1st Night: We typically eat in and enjoy cocktails on the boat, around the firepit or on her screened in porch
2nd Day: We enjoy coffee and conversation. Next we workout with either a walk or my Fit N Fun Bootcamp Boardgame. Everyone has to do some form of exercise to “earn their bloody mary”. This is usually followed by shopping and garage saleing. Sometimes we go out for lunch. Then we head home to boat, float and have some cocktails for the afternoon.
2nd Night: We enjoy dinner, drinks and games. One year a friend and I organized “music bingo” with homemade cards with all songs from the 80’s. Of course, we had “fun and fabulous” prizes. We tend to stay up late, sad that we have to go home tomorrow.
3rd Day: After breakfast, we all pitch in cleaning up the cabin/yard. We enjoy coffee and reminiscing about the fun weekend, and typically get a date on the schedule for the next time.
Time with your girlfriends is the best therapy there is. We always laugh (sometimes until our stomach muscles hurt), sometimes cry, but always have a GREAT time.
