Making fitness fun is our main goal at Fit N Fun Games, and it’s especially important for families.  Our unique board game delivers interactive fitness for all ages and abilities.  Finding time to workout as a family can strengthen family bonds.  Family fitness time also improves physical fitness and shows kids that parents value physical fitness.  It’s never to early to start working out together as a family.  When my kids were little, they loved to do yoga and cardio classes with me to You Tube videos.  And, Saturday night dance parties or a game of tag were always a hit.

Family Plank-Off

As the kids got older, we advanced to family kickball games, jumping on the trampoline, relay races and obstacle courses.  However, we always made it a point to be active together.  Once the kids started playing organized sports, our family fitness time naturally progressed to practicing with them.  We encouraged our kids to try all sports, so they could know what they love.  They tried soccer, wrestling, tee ball, football, skiing, hockey, track and basketball.  While they did not enjoy or weren’t particularly good at everything they tried, it gave them a clear picture on what the liked and what they didn’t.

Importance of Physical Fitness

Now that our kids are adults, they have less time for physical activity.  However, we want to stress the importance of being physically active, because we believe it’s imperative for healthy aging.  Fit N Fun Games was born during the pandemic when the gyms closed down.  We were trying to think of creative ways to keep our kids (and ourselves) active at home.

Gamified Fitness

Our fitness game was more fun, challenging and motivating than we had dreamed, and led to health habits with each roll of the dice. This led to us actually making the board game (not just hand drawing it on poster board), and motivated us to continue playing it.  While I didn’t know the term “gamified fitness” before, I certainly knew that this fitness game was addicting.  I felt a desire to continue working out/playing Fit N Fun Bootcamp Edition to beat my workout buddy at the Challenge Cards, and to beat myself at the Challenge Cards.  We also had our kids playing it for their at-home gym credits, and they loved it.  Fit N Fun Games is much more fun than doing a set number of pushups or jumping jacks.  Our kids were also motivated to beat each other at the challenges, and actually found working out “fun!”

While we currently only have one edition of our Fit N Fun board games, we have many more in the pipeline.  Our goal is to continue motivating individuals and families to enjoy working out to help promote overall health and fitness.
