Are you new to exercise? It can be intimidating to know where to start and definitely intimidating to start a group fitness class at a gym (especially when you aren’t familiar with the core exercises). But, not to worry. Our Fit-N-Fun Games is the perfect place to start, learn the basic exercises and all from the comfort of home!
Proper Exercise Form
Proper form to avoid injury is essential when exercising. We asked a corrective exercise specialist/personal trainer to demonstrate all of the exercises in our game to ensure newbies learn the proper form plus modifications they may need. While playing our gamified fitness workout, you can scan the QR code on the corners of the gameboard for demonstrations of the exercises included in the game (the most common bootcamp exercises). They are also color coded by category to make it easy to find (green = cardio, red = core, purple = strength, yellow = lower body strength, orange = challenge cards and blue = break time cards).
Bootcamp Classes Can Be Intimidating
I remember the first time I went to a bootcamp class at my local gym. I was exercising on an eliptical when a class came out and was racing each other doing walking lunges around the track. I recognized many of them from Body Pump, and then the instructor came up asked me if I wanted to join them. I explained I had never tried bootcamp and she encouraged me to jump in. Without thinking I joined them on the track. It’s lucky I didn’t plan ahead to join, or I likely would have been too intimated to try. I LOVED it and soon became a regular. While I had an awesome instructor to demo the exercises, it can be challenging to learn them at home (especially if you workout to YouTube).
Learning Basic Exercise Form
If you are new to bootcamp, a great way to begin working out to Fit-N-Fun Games is to simply go to the “How to Play” section on our website, watch the video demonstrations and try each exercise yourself. As soon as you feel confident on the form (and learn any modifications you may need) you are ready to play. Starting out playing solo can help you feel comfortable before challenging friends/family (but I do have to say it’s more fun when you workout/play with others).
Physical Education Class Ideas
Oh, and this is also a great way to teach kids basic exercises in physical education classes. Have them draw cards and the scan the QR code to learn how to perform that exercise. Once they master the form, they are rewarded by getting to workout in a fun way.
Making Fitness Fun
When we created Fit-N-Fun Games bootcamp edition, our goal was to give people an affordable, fun workout they could do at home. A roll of the dice determines what exercise(s) you complete, so with a one time cost, it’s a different workout each time you play. The challenge cards are what make it especially fun. I recommend keeping a tally of your wins/losses against others or your number of reps/time you hold a pose on the challenge cards when playing solo. This can make the game even more fun and competitive. You will soon feel and see the progress of regular workouts with Fit–N-Fun Games, which will further increase your motivation to consider.
